Hey there! I love your pets!

As a matter of fact, I have been photographing animals longer than I have people. Before I became a full time photographer, I have held a variety of job postions from vet med to pet sitting and dog walking to operations at a dog hotel. Yes, a hotel for dogs (shout out to Pooch Hotel West Loop!) I was also named as one of Chicago's Best Pet Photographers. #humblebrag

My decades of experience working with animals also comes with an equal amount of experience observing and understanding animal behavior. Pet photography requires a great deal of patience and understanding animal psychology before the art aspect can even be incorporated to make a beautiful image.

I reside outside of Chicago with my husband, Julio, and our dogs, Dempsey (Shepherd-Boxer) who recently crossed the rainbow bridge, Carmelita (Whippet-mix) and Theodore (Whippet). I began showing Theo in the conformation ring this past year which is something I have wanted to do for a very long time (blows dust off an old Westminster VHS) and I have been loving it! When I'm not making beautiful art of your precious animals I am usually watching reruns of The Office, eating Mexican food, spending way too much money on coffee runs, and nerding out on canine and equine health.

Kind Words

We found Leah in August, when our beloved dog had gotten pretty sick pretty quickly and we wanted to have professional photos to look back on. Leah was quick to respond, extremely compassionate, and when the day of the photo shoot came, she was so kind, and our Minna was immediately comfortable with Leah. Leah went at Minna’s pace and took some incredible photos. Unfortunately, Minna left us just a few weeks later, but we have an amazing memory and beautiful photos, for which we are so incredibly thankful. We will definitely be reaching out to Leah in the future and couldn’t recommend her more.
